We recruit Native applicants from all parts of the United States and Canada, and from rural,
urban and reservation communities, through targeted regional efforts and national conferences.
Our student support staff assists students and their parents with all aspects of the admissions
process, from selecting the appropriate Cornell college through financial aid.
We can assist with campus visits for prospective students and their families.
In the fall we sponsor a campus visitation weekend for selected high school seniors who are
seriously considering Cornell.
We network with high school guidance counselors to identify promising students, collaborate in
college prep readiness and provide current information about Cornell.
Community & Career Commitment
To complete the Full Circle model we instill in our students an ethic of service to Native
communities as part of their education at Cornell and career development upon graduation. In
addition, we offer referrals to advanced academic programs and employment opportunities.
On-Campus Support
Our student services staff can provide academic, financial and personal counseling and advising
on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
We promote educational, cultural, and social events that build a sense of Native community at
Cornell.
We sponsor Native student organizations including NASAC and AISES that enable students to develop
leadership and organizational skills as they explore academic and career opportunities.
We serve as a resource for information on internships, scholarships, summer employment opportunities,
and on-campus student employment.
We facilitate student participation in regional and national conferences concerning important Native
issues.
We provide a comfortable student lounge that includes a space for meetings, studying or resting; a
computer lab with free printing, access to a Native American literature collection and various native
publications.
We offer emergency assistance to students facing personal crises.
Our faculty, graduate students, and CCAIGPS provide personal and academic mentoring for undergraduate
students.
