ResourcesFaculty FellowsFaculty fellows at Akwe:kon provide student residents with opportunities to talk with faculty members outside of the classroom on an informal basis. This program give the ability of faculty members to play different roles in programming and student support. Their use of family perspectives as American Indian Faculty is in tune with the community building goals of the AIP Full Circle model. This offers Akwe:kon students an important network of support through events such as kickball games, winter sports day, study breaks, and academic guidance, these are just a few of the continued avenues of success for students and the program. Akwe:kon LibraryThe library has undergone growth in its collection and program offerings, within the last year. A browsing library, the library is located on the second floor of Akwe:kon. In addition to being a study area, the library features a Book Club, an elementary age reading service for first and second graders as well as contemporary Indian issues periodical collection. Visit the library to learn more about upcoming events and an alumni initiative. Akwe:kon WeeklyAs a community center for various American Indian community activity on campus, the Akwe:kon weekly is a newsletter highlighting for students and community members the activity in Akwe:kon, the American Indian Program, and related organizations on campus. The weekly newsletter is circulated to students involved in AIP and various offices on campus. Akwe:kon Guest roomsThere are two guest rooms in Akwe:kon for parents, friends, and prospective students. The Akwe:kon guest rooms are a unique feature of the American Indian community at Cornell.
